Cindy Crawford

Cynthia Ann Crawford, born 20 February 1966 is an American actress, model and a TV star. In the 1980s and 1990s she was a renowned supermodel and was a regular on runways and magazines, as well as in fashion campaigns. Later on she began to expand her acting and ventures into business. She received a call in her sophomore year from a local clothes shop regarding modeling. But, it turned out to be a joke by two of her classmates. But, in the next year, another company employed a group of high school girls, including Crawford, to perform their duties (including a fashion shoot). Roger Legel, a local photographer, approached Crawford to take her picture. He was responsible for shooting another college student in DeKalb Nite Weekly. Crawford became the first photo shoot. The picture as well as the positive comments the magazine received helped make her want to pursue modeling. In the beginning, she was with a small agency, which was acquired by Elite Model Management shortly after she signed. She entered Elite's Look of the Year contest in 1983 at age 17 and was able to make it to the national finals.
