Garena's Garena premier league (GPL) began in the month of May. It's a premier online gaming event that lasts for up to six months and has over 100 games. The inaugural season of GPL features six teams of experienced League of Legends players. Teams are composed of the top players in their countries. Garena Premier League 2013 includes two teams that are new to Taiwan and Vietnam, bringing the amount of teams up to eight. They include AHQ (Asia), Saigon Fantastic Five (Saigon Jokers), Bangkok Titans (Bangkok) Kuala Lumpur Hunters(Kuala Lumpur), Manila Eagles(Manila) The Taipei Assassins and Singapore Sentinels. The Garena E-Sports arena, an arena for esports, was opened in November 2014 at the Neihu District of Taipei. The studio was built partially to facilitate the launch of the League of Legends Masters Series The top-level Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau LoL league which was a spun-off from the GPL. Garena began the Iron Solari League in January 2015. It is the League of Legends women's tournament that is held at the Philippines. The tournament is scheduled for the second week of every month. This is a chance to increase participation by communities that are underrepresented and is open for any women who identify as the same. Garena hosts offline events for members who wish to meet and connect. Garena organizes the Garena Festival, which takes place in Singapore, Malaysia and other countries.
